ABOUT ME

I have loved fashion and want to become a fashion designer since I was a little girl. To me, fashion is a form of art and self-expression. Studying fashion and design skills in practice followed by gaining experience learning in College would give me the tools to start my dream as a fashion designer in the future.

Education and Professional Goals

My plan is to complete my undergraduate degree within two years and pursue a career as a female fashion designer. I have recently graduated in fashion and textiles from London College for Design and Fashion, Hanoi. I am creative and enjoy the practical side of this industry, however, I feel exploring my niche will allow me refine my skills.

Once I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion and Textiles, my plan thereafter is to work at a fashion company so I can put these skills into practice, in a real situation, gain even more experience and that will eventually prepare me to start my own fashion brand.

Transferable Skills

I have strong fashion illustration skill, I thoroughly enjoy trend forecasting, design, pattern cutting and garment manufacture.

As a creative person, I enjoy working independently as well as in a team. My organisation skills are allow me to meet deadlines, I have learnt how to stay calm in a crisis, I have the ability to take responsibility for my own actions, ability to learn from my mistakes, I have excellent time management skills and have achieved high subject results in College. Overall, I think I am a hard working student, and well suited for this fashion scholarship.

Relevant Experience

I start to follow my dream seriously when I started my studies in high school and also in all my examinations in Hanoi University of Industry Fine Art. After 1 year I  then received a scholarship from London College for Design and Fashion in Hanoi. Studying at LCDF was my biggest goal and I am so proud I achieved this.

My other achievements have been the following;

  • I then had the opportunity to work as an intern with Hanoi based fashion designers, Chula Fashion House.

  • Making costumes for Hai Yen singer when she joined The remix TV show.

  • Being a stylist for Tit DJ- a famous DJ in Vietnam.

  • Gaining much experience as an event manager for the Interwoven blog launch event, Hanoi.

  • And being part of two College team Projects. Where I was involved with Design, Implementation, and Evaluation experience - "Wear!d". The other was to design a pop-up store with the Graphic Design graduate students, called ‘Yes’ event & exhibition.
